Low Alloy Structural Steel
Low-alloy high-strength structural steel is a carbon structural steel with carbon content less than 0.20%, which is developed by adding a small amount of alloying elements. Its toughness is higher than that of carbon structural steel. It also has good weldability, cold-hot pressure processing performance and corrosion resistance. Some kinds of steel also have low brittle transition temperature. This kind of steel contains not only some basic elements of silicon or manganese, but also other elements suitable for China's resources. Such as vanadium (V), niobium (Nb), titanium (Ti), aluminum (Al), molybdenum (Mo), nitrogen (N), and rare earth (RE) and other trace elements. According to the chemical composition and performance requirements, the grades of Q295A, B, Q345A, B, C, D, E, Q390A, B, C, D, E, Q420A, B, C, D, E, Q460C, D, E, Q500C, D, E, Q690C, D, E and other steel grades are expressed, which have the same meaning as carbon structural steels. V, Nb, Ti, Al and other refined grain trace elements should contain at least one of them in grade C, D and E steels except grade A and B steels. Q345A, B, C, D, E are the representative grades of this kind of steel. Grade A and B steel are usually called 16Mn.
